Wagner Solar UK Ltd, the UK branch of German solar power and solar heating supplier Wagner & Co Solar Technology, is pleased to announce they will donate 3% from the sales of SANYO modules during the entire month of April, to the relief and development organisation World Vision for Japan related causes. All new orders for SANYO products during the month of April will contribute to this offering.
Speaking from Wagner Solar UK Ltd, Managing Director Carsten Pump, “It is heart breaking to see the suffering in Japan, especially the many hundreds of thousands of children who have lost their homes. These children will potentially be scarred for life, so we have chosen to offer this small contribution to World Vision as they are experienced with providing relief and recovery programmes to the long-term affected, namely the children.”
World Vision is a global humanitarian organisation with a mission to make a serious and sustainable impact on poverty and its causes, especially as they affect children. World Vision Senior Executive Neville Wepener had the following to say, “ The scale of this disasater is just devastating for so many children in Japan, many of whom have lost families, their homes and face a long recovery process. In additon to the basic provision of supplies and water, World Vision is dedicated to setting up areas known as Child Friendly spaces where children can play safely and begin to recover from what they’ve been through. Such surroundings have been proven to protect children from some of the psycho-social impacts of surviving a disaster like this.“
Shigeki Komatsu, Director of the European Solar Division for SANYO commented, “The devastation has been traumatizing for many of my colleagues in Japan, but fortunately SANYO’s solar module operations have been unaffected by the disaster. It is important for the Japanese economy to get back onto its feet quickly so that the rebuilding efforts in the North-East region are not prolonged. All at SANYO are extremely grateful to Wagner Solar UK and the positive impact of their contribution to the Japanese economy and more importantly, the support it will bring to the affected people.”
